overseeing the educational ministry of the church, planning and leading adult Bible studies, and assisting with pastoral care counseling.
He successfully organized and led several church-wide studies that resulted in an increase in attendance in mid-week Bible studies.Prior to that, he was their Youth Coordinator for three years.
He has been married to his wife Rosie for 29 years.
Rosie was born and raised in
El Salvador in Central America and came to this country in the early 1980’s.
Rosie had a four year old daughter named Sylvia when they met; in addition, they have two sons, Tom Jr. who is 27 and John who is 25.
They have five grandchildren. Rosie is currently working in the production of medications for asthma patients at the 3M Company in Northridge, CA.

Pastor Tom went to California State University Northridge where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies in June 1999. Then he went to Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena to receive his Master of Divinity Degree in June 2004.
His ministry experience started at St. James United Methodist Church in Pasadena from 2002 to 2005 where he worked with the youth, visiting homebound members, leading Bible studies, participation in worship and occasionally preaching. He helped establish a mid-week children’s program and a Sunday evening youth fellowship. During this time he was a Hospital Chaplain Intern at Arcadia Methodist Hospital.
"Will any one of you, who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down at table'? Will he not rather say to him, 'Prepare supper for me, and gird yourself and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink'? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'" Luke 17:7-19
